Meet
Simiso Kabo, MS, CPA/CFF
Simiso “Simi” Kabo is Nonprofit HR’s Chief Financial Officer. He comes to the firm directly from Panum Group (“Panum”) where he served as Vice President of Finance and Administration. In that capacity, he assisted as advisor to the CEO, Executive Team and Board on all financial matters. In addition, he provided leadership and strategy on all back-office operations (financial services, Human Capital and IT functions).
Prior to joining Panum, Simi was with FTI Consulting and served as a Senior Director. FTI Consulting is a publicly traded international professional services firm. Mr. Kabo assisted contractors in a variety of capacities including, but not limiting to, interim CFO, interim Controller, providing consulting services in areas such as forensic accounting and corporate investigations, indirect rate preparation and analysis, assistance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance reviews, bid protests and expert testimony, preparation of claims in accordance with FAR. Before FTI Consulting, he was at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) where he managed bilateral and multilateral trust funds financed by a consortium of countries.
Simi obtained his Master of Science degree in Financial Economics from Ohio University. He is a CPA/CFF, CMA, PMP, CGMA, CFE and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Project Management Institute—Washington D.C. Chapter.
