Meja Petchel, SHRM-CP, GPHR, PHR

Meja Petchel is a dedicated human resources professional currently providing strategic HR guidance to mission-based organizations in the areas of culture, performance management, employee relations, benefits, compensation and compliance.

Meja has over 20 years of experience in both domestic and global, nonprofit and for-profit environments. In the 10 years prior to Meja joining Nonprofit HR, she led nonprofit HR departments, including stints with Special Olympics International and the Defenders of Wildlife. Prior to that, Meja provided HR guidance within both the clinical research and staffing industries.

Meja holds Professional of Human Resources (PHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and Global Professional of Human Resources (GPHR) certifications. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Management from North Carolina State University.
