Lisa's Bio:

Driven by a vision to transform talent management in the social impact sector, Lisa Brown Alexander founded Nonprofit HR, now recognized as the leading talent management firm in the country dedicated exclusively to the social impact space. Under her leadership, the company has become a trailblazer, helping many of the nation’s most prominent nonprofit organizations excel through innovative people management strategies. Today, fueled by the passion of just under 100 employees and consultants nationwide, Nonprofit HR is a force that thousands of nonprofit and talent management leaders rely on for consulting services, thought leadership, sector-specific hiring, executive search needs, professional development and critical information. Chamber of Commerce, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Prince George’s Cultural Arts Foundation, and as a former board member of the D.C. Rape Crisis Center, Community Youth Advance and the Upper Marlboro Arts Council.

Lisa frequently addresses national conferences and events and has authored numerous articles in nonprofit and HR publications. She was named one of Washington DC’s Top 25 Minority Business Leaders by the Washington Business Journal, honored with the Brava! Award by Washington SmartCEO Magazine, named to the Power50 Women list by Walker’s Legacy, and celebrated as a 2024 Enterprising Women of the Year by Enterprising Women Magazine.

A proud Canadian-American, mother and wife, Lisa is also the co-owner of Wellspring Manor and Spa, an upscale retreat destination and full-service bed and breakfast located in suburban Maryland. Lisa operates Wellspring Manor alongside her husband where they also lead an experienced staff of hospitality professionals. And, known in both her personal and professional circles as a trailblazer and a champion for excellence.
