Laura Laney, SHRM-CP

Laura Laney, SHRM-CP, is an accomplished leader in the domain of people and culture, deeply committed to collaborating with organizational leaders in steering strategic talent management endeavors. Her approach is marked by its impactful and inventive nature, infused with a conscientious focus on people-centric HR practices. Furthermore, Laura fervently advocates for and champions diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across all spheres, not only integrating these principles into her work but also motivating and challenging her clients to do the same. 

With a rich history of supporting organizations across various stages of their lifecycle, Laura recognizes the importance of tailoring approaches to meet each organization's unique position. This involves delving into the organization's mission, values and engaging stakeholders strategically, coupled with the implementation of talent management best practices to nurture their workforce. 

Spanning a career exceeding 15 years, Laura has rendered valuable service to The George Washington University, contributed meaningfully during her tenure on Capitol Hill, and made impactful strides at John Snow, Inc./The Partnership for Supply Chain Management, overseeing the dynamics of an international workforce spanning over 23 countries. Holding a bachelor’s degree in political science from BYI-Idaho, she fortifies her extensive practical experience with her accreditation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). 

A dedicated and engaged member of the SHRM community, both at the national level and within the local SHRM chapter in Columbia, SC, Laura remains actively involved in advancing progressive HR practices and fostering inclusive organizational cultures.
