Kate Deno, SHRM-SCP, PHR

Kate Deno, SHRM-SCP, PHR, is a passionate and results-driven HR professional who strives to serve as a trusted strategic partner for organizational leadership by leveraging thoughtful HR expertise to support strategy, cultivate relationships, mitigate risks and ensure operational excellence across the HR function. Kate delivers high-quality human resources support to clients by leveraging proven best practices and seeking relevant, strategic, creative and innovative HR solutions that align with organizational and business needs.


Before joining Nonprofit HR, Kate spent several years as an HR Business Partner for a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), where she provided hands-on HR support and consultation to small businesses across Colorado. She has served in HR roles with two Fortune 500 companies and has over eight years of multi-industry HR experience. Kate is specialized in employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, learning and development, compliance and risk management and benefits administration.


Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Kansas State University. She is a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and also holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification through Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). She is also an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
