Dr. Denise Bailey Clark, MA, SHRM-SCP

Denise Bailey Clark is an innovative, proactive and analytical thinker who strategically integrates human resources research and best practices from 35 years of experience into her work with Nonprofit HR. Dr. Clark is Founder and CEO of Bailey Clark HR Consulting, LLC, that specializes in Executive Coaching and HR Consulting. She has served in executive human resources and diversity positions for several organizations including as the Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development at the American Nurses Association, the Director of Human Resources Standards for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Director of Human Resources at PhRMA. She also serves as an Expert Witness for law firms on HR and DEI-related cases.

Dr. Clark has managed all aspects of full-service human resources departments. She has successfully led human resources and organizational teams and projects including compensation, benefits, diversity, equity and inclusion, talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development and union labor relations.

Dr. Clark earned a Doctor of Management (DM) degree from the University of Maryland University College, Master of Arts (MA) degree in Human Resources Development from Bowie State University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration from Towson University. In addition, she is a certified mediator trained at George Mason University/Virginia Mediation Services, a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through HRCI and a certified Associate Coach by CoachDiversity and BetterUp Coaching.
