Anne Koo Thornquist, MBA, SPHR
Anne Koo Thornquist, MBA, SPHR, is an accomplished Senior Consultant with over 20 years of demonstrated success in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. She has built multiple best-in-class organizations through the development and implementation of robust HR strategies.
Anne most recently held multiple positions with the YMCA. As Vice President of Human Resources with the YMCA of Orange County in Tustin, CA, she reduced recruitment costs by $30,000 within six months and decreased time to hire by 25%, while increasing retention by 75%. Other selected accomplishments in this role included reducing WC ex-mod by 15%, cutting performance evaluation time in half, and minimizing manual check issuance by 80%. Serving as Region Director, CEO Search with YMCA of the USA in Chicago, she led over 190 executive searches in the Southeast. Her “above and beyond” manner of facilitating the search process earned her the highest ratings possible from 95% of search committees.
Anne commits to lifelong learning in the human resources profession and has volunteered her HR skills to numerous community organizations. She is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). She has served as Membership Chair with the Employer’s Advisory Council of Orange County (EACOC) in California and Vice-Chair of the Multicultural Mentoring Program through YMCA of the USA. Anne earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Phoenix in Gardena, CA, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Healthcare Administration from California State University in Long Beach. Anne loves reading, golfing with her husband and cooking for friends and family. She currently resides in Little Elm, TX, with her husband, two daughters and two dogs.
