This position will be accountable for building and realizing the full potential of talent management and acquisition opportunities for Nonprofit HR’s staffing division. Specifically, this position will recruit, place, and manage highly qualified talent for both direct hire and temporary staffing business. This position will work closely and in partnership with the Director, Talent Acquisition to increase and manage its talent pipeline to immediately respond to requests and place top talent with nonprofit clients.
The incumbent will establish and maintain outstanding and effective business relationships within the nonprofit sector to develop new business and broaden current relationships to position the firm’s staffing division as a leading direct hire and staffing services provider.
The incumbent will develop and participate in staffing services goals, objectives, and manage related systems as part of the Talent Acquisition team. The incumbent will recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of services performed; be creative, innovative, and highly motivated to bring about transformational and unique opportunities to the business of recruiting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties that occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job.)
Temporary/Contract Staffing Services (85%)
- Proactively sources, screens, and recruits applicants for temporary placement with nonprofit staffing clients, which may include writing job advertisements according to established position criteria.
- Conducts phone screens, video conference and in-person interviews, coordinates pre-employment processes including reference and background verifications, resume consultation for client presentation, pre-employment testing, pre-onboarding conversations and confirmations, and other related administrative duties to meet both internal and external operational and client expectations.
- Successfully fills assignments with new and existing clients. Actively identifies and leverages new client organizations through researching, networking, and skills marketing. Maintains and builds positive client relations with organizational contacts through regular and consistent contact.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in candidate/client database, ensures all temporary placement and client data is accurate and reflective of relevant and legally compliant recruitment activity. Compiles reports from database as required by Director, Talent Acquisition.
Direct Hire and Recruitment Outsourcing Services (10%)
- Establishes individual day-to-day recruiting requirements by partnering with the Director, Talent Acquisition and fellow team members to acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the Talent Acquisition business unit’s goals, objectives, and best practices.
- Proactively builds and recruits the best available talent to place as direct hire candidates with nonprofit clients. Networks, researches, and stays connected to the local nonprofit sector in order to skill market and attract both applicants and new potential clients.
- Determines requirements for searches by partnering with clients to understand their unique needs (particularly around culture, qualifications, and requirements) and serving as an expert on attracting top talent.
- Coordinates and manages the full process of placing direct hire candidates for nonprofit clients; writes and places advertisements utilizing the firm’s CRM database and an appropriate mix of job boards. Identifies talent through sourcing (including the use of Boolean), researching, networking, and leveraging social media sites strategically.
- Establishes recruiting methodology, writes and prepares candidate profiles and related reports for presentation to clients, and provides appropriate briefings to maintain recruiting integrity and placement best practices.
Operational Support (5%)
- Contributes to blogs, webinars, white papers related to staffing and recruitment management issues.
- Actively participates in monthly team meetings and bi-monthly all-staff meetings.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED(Minimum education and experience needed to perform the job adequately.)
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of recruiting experience, preferably servicing nonprofits OR equivalent experience working with a staffing agency. CSP and/or PHR certification is a plus.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills including ability to communicate orally and write effectively and concisely for a wide variety of audiences including candidates, management, staff, senior leadership, Boards of directors, and client organizations.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of talent acquisition, full lifecycle recruitment, and people management skills with a strong client service and candidate experience orientation and demonstrated understanding of the nonprofit sector. Experience working in or with the nonprofit sector strongly preferred.
Must have excellent planning, follow-through, and organizational skillswith very strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive and proven ability to be self-motivated to learn, grow, and succeed.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures and be able to quickly assimilate information and build solutions to balance business needs.
Desire to help the Talent Acquisition business unit continue to grow and be an enthusiasticand active part of its strategic and innovative planning sessions.
Demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications. Experience with CRM software and/or an applicant tracking system (ATS) is required. Experience working with Talent Rover or Salesforce is a plus.
ADA SPECIFICATIONS (Physical demands that must be met in order to successfully complete the essential functions of the job).
This position is largely sedentary in nature, however, one must possess the ability to speak, hear, and write, as well as the ability to use a computer and related software programs, and lift up to 20 lbs. Will need to work long hours occasionally, and local and/or national travel will periodically be required.
