POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Policy Associate, State Partnerships works with other policy division staff, as well as other internal divisions, to help develop and expand a new program in collaboration with state advocates. Our initiative on State Partnerships for Policy Impact will support state advocates with resources that the Institute–as an action-oriented think tank–can provide. This includes supporting an agenda that reasserts the importance of facts and evidence, while centering equity and justice, through a program that emphasizes equitable partnerships, evidence-based advocacy and strategic communications. This position’s success relies upon superior collaboration skills to create cohesive, strategic partnerships in line with the Institute’s short- and long-term goals. The division is currently rebuilding and reshaping its approach, and this position will have the opportunity to work with others in advancing the division’s vision for strategic impact, collaboration and equity as it applies to state policies in particular.
A FEW ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working in close collaboration with the Director of Public Policy and the state team, implement a new initiative on State Partnerships for Policy Impact.
- Identify, nurture and manage strategic partnerships with state advocates.
- Develop a deep understanding of the partners’ state policy goals and, working with a cross-division team, identify experimental ways Guttmacher can support these goals drawing on research, strategic communications and policy analysis.
