Family League of Baltimore, an organization with a vision that sees a Baltimore where every child grows up in a family that thrives, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Director of Youth Initiatives to have overall responsibility for the organizations’ facilitation of the Community School Engagement strategy. The Senior Director will be an integral part of the leadership team that drives the overall education strategy of the organization and will report to the Chief Operating Officer. They will represent the Family League on a local, state, regional and national level. They will also develop a deep knowledge of educational programs, initiative operations, business/resource development plans and will focus on initiative leadership, external relationships and knowledge management.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related field strongly desired, a master’s degree would be a plus. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience working with youth, including Community Schools, after-school or summer youth programs, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. This experience MUST be with Community Schools. They must also possess integrity and a positive attitude while being mission-driven and self-directed with a demonstrated passion for the Family League’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with the leadership team.
This position commands someone with a commitment to working with a diverse team on implementing inclusive practices and participating in dialogue on equity in the communities served and an unwavering pledge to quality programs and excellence in organizational and project management. Must have the ability to achieve strategic objectives and manage a budget. The position also requires that the candidate establish Baltimore City residency within 90 days of hire.
