HealthRIGHT 360 is a family of integrated health programs that provides compassionate care and treatment to over 38,000 individuals a year through more than 70 distinct and culturally competent programs in 13 California counties. We do this by providing care that includes primary medical, mental health, substance use disorder treatment and re-entry services.
To ensure HealthRIGHT 360 continues to provide opportunities to the people within our community, HealthRIGHT 360 has exclusively retained Nonprofit HR to assist in the recruitment efforts for its next Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR). The VP of HR is responsible for directing all of the people functions for 1,200+ employees, volunteers, interns, and contractors in over 13 counties across California for HealthRIGHT 360. HealthRIGHT 360 is looking for an experienced HR professional with deep HR knowledge and an entrepreneurial spirit to develop, implement and promote scalable people strategies and policies. The VP of HR will be responsible for leading the HR team and providing sound advice to senior management regarding all HR and recruiting matters and will be relied on by staff on all levels to provide their HR expertise.
As a strategic partner and member of the Executive Team, the VP of HR will assist in developing the organization’s plans and programs, particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. The VP of HR will enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce creative HR policies and procedures for the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization across locations, programs and departments.
S/he will develop an effective Human Resources team that is respected and trusted across the agency. The VP of HR will coach and lead the HR team to deliver excellence and efficiencies in all aspects of the company’s day-to-day and overall HR and recruiting operations including, but limited to: talent acquisition, onboarding and exit interviews, leadership development, training, benefits management, compensation planning, policy setting, performance evaluations, employee relations, HRIS and employee engagement. The VP of HR is expected to remain current on regulations, laws, industry trends and best practices; and to keep the agency compliant by advising management and making timely changes in practices and policies.
The VP of HR will continue improving human resources programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization. S/he will serve as the leader for escalated employee relations issues, employment legal claims, etc. to provide proactive guidance and consultation. The VP of HR must have experience creating and maintaining an organizational culture that attracts, motivates, and retains a diverse, talented staff to blend skill sets, meet objectives, and provide efficient program execution.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, with at least ten years of experience in Human Resources with a minimum of five years in an executive role; HR certification preferred. S/he will possess demonstrable experience in employee relations, employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development and employee engagement. The position requires someone with demonstrated ability to think strategically in seizing opportunities, accessing risks, and streamlining processes and procedures across multiple locations. The successful incumbent will have demonstrated success owning all aspects of HR operations as a part of a strategic leadership team with the ability to create and execute an innovative and scalable HR roadmap and vision aligned with the organization’s overall strategic goals. It is essential to have demonstrated expertise in handling employment legal claims and developing/implementing risk management strategies. This position requires a leader with the poise, knowledge, and communication skills to be an influential business partner and coach to executive staff and maintain effective relationships with employees at all levels.
