ClimateWorks Foundation is a passionate group of researchers, strategists, collaborators, and grantmakers with expertise in climate science, strategic philanthropy, public policy, and social and economic development on a mission to end the climate crisis by amplifying the power of philanthropy.
ClimateWorks Foundation has the breadth of skills and experience needed to assess the science, identify the mitigation opportunities, and strategize the philanthropic initiatives needed to tackle the climate crisis. The ClimateWorks Programs team is strong and growing. To ensure they continue their commitment to racial and social Justice, ClimateWorks Foundation has exclusively retained Nonprofit HR to assist in the recruitment efforts for its new Racial & Social Justice Director. Reporting to the Vice President for Programs, the Racial and Social Justice Director will be part of the Programs team and will focus much of their time on our programmatic strategies and grantmaking but will also work closely with other departments to ensure the work across the organization benefits from their expertise.
The Racial & Social Justice (RSJ) Director is an integral part of ClimateWorks’ commitment to racial and social justice across all of their work. The Director will lead efforts to increase engagement with organizations that promote racial and social justice and movement building in addressing climate change. The RSJ Director is responsible for building relationships and developing joint strategies with BIPOC-led organizations and organizations representing frontline communities, in conjunction with other Program Directors at CWF. The RSJ Director will lead the engagement with CWF’s racial and social justice advisors and act as program officer on grants that support CWF’s broad strategic goals in this area. As a strategic partner and advisor to the Executive Team, s/he/they will assist the organization’s plans and programs, including enhancing and/or developing, implementing, CWF’s seven racial and social justice commitments.
