Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada is a faith-based ministry of service whose mission is to change individual lives, instill hope, increase self-worth and facilitate independence, through quality housing, employment, and related supportive services. Founded locally in 1911, the Northern California & Northern Nevada affiliate of Volunteers of America (VOA NCNN) is one of the largest providers of social services in the region, operating more than 40 programs including housing, employment services, substance abuse and recovery services to families, individuals, veterans, seniors, and youth. In fact, VOA NCNN provides shelter or housing to over 3,500 men, women and children every night. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The President/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing leadership to drive the organization’s growth strategy and ensure continued operational excellence. We are looking for an experienced proactive and dedicated leader that can serve as an effective spokesperson for the organization, build partnerships and collaborations and further the mission and goals of the organization. The ideal candidate will also bring extensive people skills including the ability to lead by example and motivate others to achieve exceptional results. A successful candidate will exhibit the highest professionalism standards and ethical principles and practices. This is an exciting opportunity to help take the organization to the next level.
A FEW ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an accurate and responsive accounting system in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, funding source and Volunteers of America requirements.
- Work with the Board of Directors to help secure the desired outcomes of compliance with the organizational strategic plan and charter standards.
- Provides visionary and strategic leadership in planning, development, and follows through of programs, products and services consistent with the organization’s core values, principles, and mission.
