ABOUT THE NATIONAL FOREST FOUNDATION
The National Forest Foundation (NFF) is the leading organization inspiring personal and meaningful connections to our National Forests, the centerpiece of America’s public lands. Chartered by Congress in 1993, the National Forest Foundation was created with a simple mission: bring people together to restore and enhance our National Forests and Grasslands. The NFF works with communities and organizations to conserve and enhance the watersheds, wildlife habitat, wild places, and recreational opportunities across the 193-million-acre National Forest System.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the President & CEO of the NFF, the Chief People Officer (CPO) will be a key member of the leadership team, setting and implementing a strategic vision for our human resources department while ensuring alignment with the organization’s values. The CPO will champion employee-centric practices and foster an environment of collaboration, positivity, diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation. Responsible for hiring key members of the NFF Human Resources leadership team, designing and updating HR policies, contributing to business strategy, forecasting talent needs, improving HR technology and processes, enhancing employee morale and career development, and managing compliance issues.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor & thought leader to the leadership team on all people, culture, and talent related policies and activities.
- Manage, implement, and oversee all HR policies and programs, including the areas of training & development, recruitment & retention, onboarding, performance management, career development, compensation, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Lead NFF’s internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts.
