”It is estimated that by 2025, Millennials will make up 75% of the workforce. By 2029, robots are expected to reach the same level of intelligence as humans. And by 2030, 9% of the world’s populations will live in just 41 megacities. The role of the CHRO is also changing and is becoming increasingly complex due to a wide range of factors, including fast paced changes in technology, automation, the changing profile of the workforce, new ways of working, and the increased focus on talent. As leaders, we must fully embrace our roles as change and transformation agents while influencing our workplace cultures and serving as visible, value-added partners. While many of these changes may seem like a world away, these disrupting trends will impact organizations of all sizes across the globe including social sector and social impact organizations. What changes do we need to employ now to talent management and our changing roles as chief talent management leaders to drive our organizations’ missions into the future? Join in an engaging discussion and hear why we must think differently about our roles and importance of talent going forward.

12:30 – 2:00 Lunch/Deep Dive #3: From Diversity to Inclusion, Strategies for Driving Measurable Progress The journey from diversity to inclusion is said to be a marathon, not a sprint. As more and more social sector organizations become intentionally and intensely focused on fostering inclusive workplaces, the need for clearly defined strategies to get there also increases. Barbara Polk, Strategic Advisor, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion with Nonprofit HR, will guide you through an important and timely discussion around key strategies you can use to measure your organization’s progress around diversity, equity and inclusion. She will unpack some of the false narratives around diversity and inclusion and share current perspectives on what the new narratives may include. A dialogue will be initiated on creating a sustainable funnel of diverse talent, unlocking potential along with strategic succession planning. In addition, the optics and impact of the “Me Too” movement and gender parity realities will be covered. Strategic options for talent management leaders to address the ongoing transition from diversity measurement to actionable inclusion – will lead to how HR translates the dual conversation of business vs moral imperatives.
